Club
Situated on 35 acres between UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke, Durham Equestrian Club is a family-friendly show barn with a strong emphasis on community through planned social activities, equestrian outings, and clinics. Offering amenities like a temperature-controlled members lounge, heated wash stall, and lighted arena, DEC is the premier hunter/jumper show stable in the area. Whether you are just learning to ride or you want to come show with us, we welcome you to contact us to learn more.
The owners, Joe and Jamie, and trainers, Jenny and Carly, are extremely friendly and supportive of all of their riders. DEC has riders of all ages and skill levels, and everyone there is so nice. They offer opportunities to show in schooling shows, and in the C and A circuits but there is low/no pressure to show. As an adult re-rider it was difficult for me to find a barn that I could see myself at long term. Then I found DEC. It's so rare to find a barn that offers all of these opportunities. I've been riding at DEC for about 1.5 years and have progressed so quickly, even surpassing my skill level when I stopped riding. I cannot recommend this barn enough!

The facility is beautiful. The show barn has huge stalls that are nice and airy and the horses are well cared for. Lots of turn out and plenty of room to ride around the farm. All the people and staff are easy to get along with.

I love the bright, clean barn. The pastures are huge with safe fencing. My mare loves that she gets lots of turnout time with space to run and plenty of grass to graze. I definitely feel like it's a great home for her. Of course, living and working in Durham, the location simply can't be beat.
